Memorable Film + Music Moment - Garden State
Zach Braff’s noteworthy and authentic music placement throughout the film Garden State makes it difficult to select one overriding moment. His unique and ambitious style of incorporating a majority of unknown, yet remarkable indie artists exemplify the thought-provoking nature of the story. Braff states his approach to compiling the music for his film as, “Essentially, I made a mix CD with all of the music that I felt was scoring my life at the time I was writing the screenplay.”
The one overriding moment in Garden State is the infinite abyss, complemented by Simon & Garfunkel - “The Only Living Boy in New York”.
Half of the time we’re gone but we don’t know where,
And we don’t know where.
The lyrics and demeanor of the scene truly encapsulate this moment: the epitome of what it feels to be confused or lost while standing on life’s edge, looking into the endless potential and opportunities of the future.
" Girls’ most tumultuous couple is set to be torn apart again. But for good this time.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Christopher Abbott, who plays Charlie on the show is leaving Girls.
The motives behind Abbott’s sudden departure from the series are mixed. Unofficially, unnamed sources told Page Six that Abbott left due to creative differences with series creator Lena Dunham during production of the third season of Girls. The differences are reportedly over the direction the series is taking, according to the New York Post.
Officially, Abbott’s reps cited his desire to pursue other projects as they issued the following statement to the New York Post:
“[Chris] is grateful for the experience of collaborating with Lena, Judd [Apatow], and the entire ‘Girls’ cast and crew, but right now he’s working on numerous other projects and has decided not to return to the show.”
The actor has had a number of roles since his breakout role on Girls and even has an upcoming movie,The Sleepwalker. “
